SnapChat App is a photo messaging application in which users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. These sent photographs and videos are known as “Snaps”. Users can set a time limit for how long recipients can view their Snaps, after which they will be hidden from the recipient’s device and deleted from SnapChat servers.
Snap a photo or a video, add a caption, and send it to a friend. They will view it, laugh, and then the snap disappears from the screen unless they take a screenshot. SnapChat takes advantage of the web, where mobile is the growth engine, fundamentally altering how people interact with information and each other.
If you want to share a Snap with all of your friends, add it to your SnapChat Story, a living narrative where each Snap lives for 24 hours until it disappears, making room for the new. The images might be a little grainy, and you may not look your best, but that’s the point. It’s about the moment, a connection between friends in the present, and not just a pretty picture. Snaps are deleted from the servers after they are opened by the recipients. Most of the data, including unopened Snaps, are kept in App Engine’s data store until they are deleted. Every Snap received brings excitement and change.
SnapChat Stories is a new way to share your day with friends or everyone. Your Story never ends and it’s always changing. The end of your Story today is the beginning of your Story tomorrow. And each Snap in your Story includes a list of everyone who views it. SnapChat becomes the Mission Impossible of the next generation of technology. They are available free and work across Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
